This exciting role will give you the opportunity to develop cutting-edge software for the latest generation of telecommunications satellites. You will join a fast-paced agile development team responsible for developing and testing a dedicated part of the satellite payload. Manufactured on-site - you will have direct access to the spacecraft itself, and direct exposure to its extensive development process.

Task & Accountabilities

Main activities of the role may include

  • Development and testing of large multi-project codebases
  • Creation of standalone software tools and products
  • Network and database management
  • Extensive use of version control and continuous integration tools
  • Involvement within a multi-developer agile team

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;

  • Degree, 2:1 or above in Computing, Computer Science, Software Development for Business or equivalent
  • A strong interest in programming and technology
  • Solid Java/C# foundational knowledge
  • An understanding of OOP principles
  • A willingness to learn and explore new ideas
  • Good critical thinking and problem-solving ability

This role will be based in Portsmouth and will receive the full Airbus Defence & Space Graduate Programme benefit package including an annual Salary of £27,000, plus a welcome payment of £2,000.
