Alfa Graduate Programme 2021

Lock Applications for this job are now closed

For our Junior Software Engineer and Analyst roles, we recruit graduates across all disciplines. New recruits will go through an intensive training induction which covers areas such as the asset finance industry, software development and consultancy skills, before being assigned to an Implementation role or our Product Engineering division where they can put their training into practice.

Supervised at all times by more experienced colleagues, new joiners will find that the open culture means they have easy access to senior managers and directors for discussion and guidance. From the very start of their career, our graduates will either help take our product, Alfa Systems, forward or help to change the way our clients' businesses work.

The initial training period will last around ten weeks and the programme will be delivered by colleagues ranging from junior to senior-level. During training, we will teach you about our company, our product (Alfa Systems) as well as the coding skills you need to be a great software engineer or consultant. As a graduate, you will then be working on a client project team as an Analyst or in an engineering team as a Junior Software Engineer.

Those working on Implementation projects will assist their team in modifying business processes for clients, testing the software, transferring data from the client’s old software to Alfa Systems and providing support through the go-live process and into the future. Those working in Product Engineering will be involved in enhancing our software product, gaining experience in our software development life-cycle and learning about a variety of functional and technical areas as their assignment rotates through teams that focus on different aspects of the product. During the graduate programme you will rotate across Implementation and Engineering roles before deciding which is suitable for you in line with your interests, skills and career aspirations.

A good Alfa recruit has the ability to see an end goal, break down the steps to get there, and put in the effort to achieve it. Therefore, any hard-working and ambitious graduate can be successful as long as they have a logical mind, enjoy working as part of a team, have pride in their work, and see their career immersed in the worlds of both technology and finance.

Although the job entails technology and finance, experience in these areas is not a prerequisite. Our training teaches you all you need to know, but your interest in these areas must be genuine.
