“A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Graduate / Trainee Civil Engineer to join our rail and civil engineering team in the Wales region supporting long term and secured Asset Management frameworks and Infrastructure projects throughout Wales.”

Business Unit

A busy and fast paced business unit involved in a range of civil engineering works in a variety of sectors to include rail (bridges, embankments, stations, platforms, tunnels etc.), Environment Agency, Local Authority etc. The business unit are involved in multi-disciplinary civils projects across the Wales region, whether one off tendered projects or projects within our long term framework / contract agreements with key clients including both Asset Management and Infrastructure Projects.

Existing contracts include CP6 infrastructure projects, minor works and Environment Agency frameworks with works typically including bridge re-construction/replacement, upgrades and refurbishments, station work (platforms, access for all etc.), structures including bridges, tunnels, footbridges, flood repair and alleviation to name just a few examples.

The Role

Working within the building and civil engineering team, delivering projects for Network Rail throughout the Wales Routes, this Engineer will assist the Engineering Manager and operational teams in managing the design and delivery phase of projects across the regional business unit.

The Engineer will liaise with our Client, Subcontractors and directly employed delivery teams to ensure our works are delivered safely and comply with the technical work scopes, approved designs and specification, programme and budgetary allowance.

This role will involve work in both office and site environments during normal weekday shifts with occasional out of hours working including during weekend night shifts where the project dictates.

This role will provide exposure to engineering development as well as the opportunity to gain safety, health, sustainability, quality, commercial, planning, procurement and managerial skills.

Requirements

To excel in this position, you will be a Degree qualified Civil Engineer with enthusiasm and ambition to progress your career in a design engineering capacity supporting the design and delivery of railway infrastructure projects, maintenance and renewal works.

  • BSc / MEng / MSc in Civil Engineering
