Taylor Hobson was Ametek’s first international acquisition in 2004 and formed the cornerstone of what is now the highly successful Ultra Precision Technologies Division. Position Summary

As an Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for developing new applications and features for Taylor Hobson instruments, directly supporting sales initiatives for new products during product development and post-launch.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

  • New applications and software features

Working with the Global Applications Manager and the Software Team

  • Developing, testing, and promoting new customer-driven applications.
  • Developing and implementing new software features and modules.
  • New products and software

Working with the Global Applications, Business Development, Software and Marketing teams

  • Evaluating the performance envelope of new products.
  • Producing demonstration and training material for new product and new software features.
  • Playing a key role in the launch of new products and software.
  • Training and support

Working with colleagues worldwide

  • Providing training and support for our Applications, Sales, and Service teams.

You have very high standards too, expecting your personal performance to be nothing short of the best. Readily able to develop a robust knowledge of our products rapidly, you will also bring:

Education and Qualifications

Ideally, you will have a master’s degree in an Engineering or Science discipline, underpinned by strong all-round communication and analytical skills, and a real commitment to teamwork. Batchelor's degree qualifications with relevant experience will also be considered.
