This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious science graduate and talented individual to join one of Scotland’s fastest growing science companies.
If you are a scientist, who loves people-centred work, this could be the job you’ve been looking for!
Our biotech customers undertake incredible work every day to bring life changing therapeutics to patients. Amici has an important role in supporting the customer’s supply chain. You will be a key player in our Technical Sourcing team, sourcing and negotiating products for our customers in the UK and USA.
You will be supported to develop your skills, experience and knowledge, in an exciting and fun environment. We are committed to talent development and proud of the promotions our people achieve!
What will you be doing
- Requests Management – Once described as being a personal shopper for scientists, customers will ask you to source and negotiate pricing for the biological consumables they need to buy for their lab work
- Customer Management – You’ll have loads of interaction with scientists to make sure you understand the brief, allowing you to present the options and recommendations based on your sound knowledge
- Sourcing – You will be sourcing a broad spectrum of Biologicals and doing whatever it takes to get a great resolution in a timely manner
- Category, Product and Market Expertise – Over time you will develop your knowledge of the products, the suppliers and the go-to people, and liaise with our Category Managers to support their strategies
- Software Administration – Amici’s software is used by the customer to place their purchase orders. You’ll need to add and edit new products as well as take some responsibility for quote management
- Team Support – It’s all about Team here at Amici! You’ll need to cross-train and cover for your peers as well as support other parts of the business when you might be the go-to person.
Does this sound like you
- You’ll love communicating and engaging your inquisitive side to gain information, presenting solid arguments to gain influence or summarising options
- You’ll be a people person who finds it easy to engage others and to build great relationships
- You’ll have an investigative scientific mind – what you don’t know today, you will find out to constantly build your knowledge and ensure decisions and conclusions are based on fact
- You will enjoy working within a fast-paced environment, possess a ‘can do’ attitude, with the ability to ‘flex’ and perform as a strong team player
- You’ll be willing to work a later shift up to 7pm on a rotation basis so that we can support our customers in the USA
- 1-2 years experience within biotech / life science or service-based / procurement would be amazing, but not critical
