Our data team compiles data on the telecoms market to build forecasts for key telecoms indicators globally and generate reports that provide insight into the current state of competition, regulation, technology in each market. This data is essential for our clients who use it to define their corporate strategies.

Job Description

The data team is undergoing significant transformation, translating our market-leading data base (DataHub) from on-premises software to cloud solutions. This digital transformation will allow us to expand our scope and forecasting methods.

As a Research Analyst in the data team, you will support this transformation, bringing ideas and solutions you have learnt or explored throughout your studies and experience.

This is a perfect opportunity to use or develop your skills in visualisation, Excel or coding to help renowned TMT brands with their strategies.

You will of course contribute to the core mission of the team which is the process of data collection, synthesis, and market forecasting. You will assist with the data management process, which culminates in regular updates to our market-leading data base, the Analysys Mason DataHub.

You will work alongside industry experts, learning from them directly, and you will develop your own analyst skills through practical and sometimes client-facing work.

Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Collecting data via extensive desk-based research
  • Excel modelling and forecasting including working with and manipulating large data sets
  • Researching market developments to identify trends and draw conclusions on future outlook
  • Writing short reports on industry topics, including country and regional forecast reports
  • Preparing datasets for upload to the DataHub, following clearly defined processes
  • Documenting the existing systems and helping to implement new processes with similar and enhanced functionality.

Qualifications

If you are looking to use or develop your Excel, coding and visualisation skills (PowerBI, PowerQuery or PowerShell) in a professional environment, this is the right job for you.

You must be a graduate (any subject) and ideally be available to start as soon as possible.

You don’t need to have a background in TMT if you can show you’re interested in learning about the sector, and you must be willing and able to manipulate datasets.

You must be fluent in English.
