Our vacation scheme has two purposes; it provides you with the opportunity to understand the work that we do and to discover whether it is your passion too. It allows us to get to know you and whether you would be a good fit for a training contract with us. You will spend one week with us, splitting your time between two departments.
We will assign you a trainee as a buddy and a fee earner as a mentor and assessor. You will have an opportunity to be involved in the real work that we do, carry out at least one group task and meet the people you might be working with. We will provide you with constructive feedback at the end of the week and let you know if we can make you an offer of a training contract.
We will be hosting our vacation scheme during June and July 2022 so please make sure you are free to attend!
About the candidate
It is expected that you will have the following skills and relevant experience:
- An excellent level of academic competence through A-level grades (BBB or equivalent) and 2:2 at degree level
- Excellent grammar, spelling and attention to detail
- Good IT skills in Microsoft Office applications and be eager and willing to develop skills in other IT systems such as presentation packages as necessary
- Positive attitude, showing initiative to get involved
- Commitment to keeping all matters confidential
- Good motivation and flexibility to meet deadlines, including the possibility of working early, late or through the lunchtime period
- Be proactive in suggesting solutions and improvements
- Take responsibility for self-development and gaining the experience, skills and knowledge required to qualify
- Demonstrate the ability to manage a demanding workload and client relationships and expectations
