We're looking for a BIM Specialist to join our team of bright professionals. From your first day, you'll join an unrivalled community of experts, where everyone is supported and mentored in their career path and encouraged to work towards a professional qualification.

You will be joining a technical delivery team with a varied and potentially challenging workload. Day to day tasks will include BIM development for information and asset management, data manipulation and visualisation, and automation. You will have the opportunity to use 2D and 3D data developing your core BIM, Modelling Software and specific developer skills like for example web or apps development and configuration.

Cardiff Office Role

You may work on a wide variety of projects of global and national importance, within the West Water Group, working on challenging water treatment, water supply, environmental flood mitigation projects across our client frameworks.

You will have the opportunity to work with various BIM packages including the full suite of Autodesk Design Applications (such as Civil 3D, Plant 3D, Revit, Inventor etc), Bentley, Open-Source products and other key data management, manipulation and visualisation software.

Manchester Office Role

You may work on wide variety of projects of global and national importance, within the civil engineering team supporting infrastructure, rail, and energy.

You will have the opportunity to work with various BIM packages including the full suite of Bentley Design Applications (such as MicroStation, ProjectWise, OpenRoads and Open Buildings), Autodesk applications, Open-Source products and other key data management, manipulation, and visualisation software.

What we are looking for

Essential

  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Engineering, with a bias towards Design Engineering and/or; 
  • Master's degree in Building Information Management 
  • Ability to draw in 2D and 3D software.  
  • Good technical expertise and a sound understanding of data management, scripting, web development and visualisation work  
  • Proven academic experience of utilising and deploying data solutions   
  • Ability to manage own work, good communication skills, effectively translate technical language to the language of business, strong problem-solving skills, interest in working with clients  

Desirable

  • Knowledge of BS EN ISO 19650, and peripheral documents, such as AEC Protocol, and NBS.  
  • Awareness of UK Adoptable Standards (Section 38, 278, 104, 106 etc.)  
  • Awareness of one or more front-end languages (e.g. HTML / CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)  
  • Awareness of one or more back-end languages (e.g. Java, Python, PHP) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js)  
  • Experience in project modelling using multiple CAD applications  
  • Experience in producing federated models and conductive design reviews  
  • Understanding and aptitude for creating component automation, using programming applications.  
  • Experience using back-end programmes, such as Subassembly Composer, Infrastructure Parts Builder, Revit Family Creation and Template Builder.  

You must be available to start this opportunity in September 2022.
