The nuclear industry is expected to need possibly 100,000 new employees over the next decade. Nuclear in the UK, is seeing a recent renaissance with the UK government pledging its support for both large and small-scale nuclear energy projects.

Assystem is the second largest Nuclear Engineering organisation and provides technical engineering support across the world, supporting complex Nuclear New Build, Decommissioning and Defence programmes.

Assystem Energy and Infrastructure are currently seeking the services of a Project Control graduate to support its growing energy and nuclear business.

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager and Project Controls Manager. The successful applicant will play key supporting role in project delivery.

Main duties

  • Creating schedules and management of a work breakdown structure
  • Developing cost reports in line with schedule and cost breakdown structure
  • Interface with the Engineering Team Leads to capture progress
  • Input into progress reports, both internally and externally
  • Support to Risk Management Process
  • Input to bid submissions
  • Coordinating with wider disciplines in organisational structure

Essential skills and behaviours

  • Strong computer literacy, particularly in MS Office and Excel
  • Self-motivated and able to work to deadlines without direction/supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with analytical acumen
  • Understanding of project management and managing budgets
  • Flexible in approach to work
  • Attention to detail
  • High customer service orientation

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Project Management, Engineering or Business

Experience

  • Preferably some Industry experience i.e., work placement
  • Experience or knowledge in planning software such as Primavera or Microsoft Project advantageous, but not essential

Security clearance

Candidates must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting
