Your purpose

Are you a Junior Process Engineer, looking for the next steps to support chartership? If you have exceptional interpersonal skills, thrive on working on exciting projects and have interest in the Nuclear sector then we want to hear from you.

We are looking for assistant process engineers to join our growing Systems Design team to support a wide range of nuclear projects (from Hinkley point C to fusion research projects!).  You will be working as part of our Systems Design team of 50 to complete exciting client secondments or delivering design projects in-house. This is an exciting time in the Nuclear Industry with large projects such as Hinkley Point C due to start commissioning soon, and other Net Zero and nuclear projects in the pipeline.

What you can bring?

You will enjoy working with others, sometimes directly at client sites, sometimes from our offices. You will be willing to learn new skills, and open to a range of opportunities.

In addition to building excellent relationships within Atkins, you’ll be able to build excellent relationships with our clients, being able to provide proactive support to a team or client within a project. You’ll also have the ability to work individually or as part of multi-disciplinary teams.

In addition to having strong communication and analytical skills, other key requirements include -

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • A desire to work towards IChemE chartership.
  • An appropriate level of relevant industrial experience* (e.g., 1-3 years) which could be derived from research and development., project engineering, operations, or contract or consultancy field.
  • Demonstrable ability to be able to communicate well, especially with the written form.
