Where you could work

Join the team that project manages some of our world's largest, most complex programmes and construction projects. As one of our Project Management placement students, you'll have the chance to be involved with the planning and delivery on both large and niche projects. You could be supporting with the management of an eco-friendly build, like the Cambridge Mosque, or restoring a major art centre, such as Edinburgh's Collective. We'll be there supporting you every step of the way to develop your skills and confidence.

Project Management Placement Student

As a Project Management placement student, you’ll help to support a variety of services across a range of challenging and exciting projects.  We operate across a range of markets including: education, central and local government, commercial property and heritage, both in the UK and internationally.

  • Industrial placement locations: Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds, London, Nottingham, Oxford, Southampton, Swansea

Our cutting-edge independent advice and support enables our clients to turn bold ideas into reality and deliver their most important projects and programmes.

You’ll form an integral part of our established team of project and Programme Management practitioners and will be supported in all aspects of your career development. Our team are involved in some of the world’s most prestigious and complex projects, requiring meticulous planning to ensure successful delivery to our clients and stakeholders. You could gain exposure to a wide variety of industry sectors and will develop your skills on a multitude of projects, learning from some of the best professionals in the world. You’ll be developing your confidence, building upon your communication and problem-solving skills as well as honing your management abilities.

As a Project Management placement student at F+G, you’ll be working directly with clients to achieve their goals, this may include assisting clients in developing the strategy for their project or programme, working with multidisciplinary project teams to turn ideas into tangible designs, or helping turn concepts into reality.

In joining F+G’s Project Management team, you’ll not only be gaining the knowledge and experience to set you in good stead to pass your Chartership, but you’ll also be joining one of the world’s leading project management providers.

What you’ll need

  • An understanding of the consultancy environment
  • Enthusiasm to drive your own career development and a motivation to learn
  • To be curious in your thinking and apply your technical knowledge to analyse problems and create innovative solutions
  • Drive and determination to achieve professional accreditation (RICS)
  • An ability to adapt to the changing world of work, embracing new technology and agile ways of working
  • A desire to develop to relationship building skills which you’ll use with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Confidence to work on your own initiative as well as being part of a multidisciplinary team

Degree Requirements

  • On track to achieve a minimum of a 2.2 Bachelor’s degree or above in a Project Management related degree or any subject for those who can demonstrate commercial or technical acumen.
