The role:

We design and manufacture a wide range of products, materials and tools to support our mission. Our operations include precision component manufacture, fabrication, explosive formulation, fissile material production, rubbers and plastics, and warhead assembly and disassembly.

As a Graduate Manufacturing Engineer, you will be based within our Manufacturing Engineering team. The role of an Engineer within this area of our business is to design/deliver and manage process design, equipment and documentation using best practice across both the manufacturing process areas and Project teams throughout AWE. You will deliver manufacturing process, tooling and packaging design, development and introduction of best manufacturing practice in terms of productivity, reliability, innovation and quality to the workplace. This will include the production of configuration documentation in accordance with appropriate procedures and legislation within a highly regulated environment.

It’s a truly exciting time to be joining our Manufacturing Engineering team. AWE is redeveloping its science and engineering technology capability with the introduction of a multi manufacturing facility. Our engineers are also encouraged to innovate using state of art manufacturing techniques through our external catapult center partners.

Successful candidates must be available to start on the Graduate Programme in September 2021.
