Undergraduate Placement – Electrical & Electronic Engineer

For nearly 70 years, AWE has been at the forefront of nuclear research weapons research and development. Contracted to the MOD, we have a critical mission: to provide the warheads for the UK’s ultimate deterrent – Trident. We also use our unique nuclear skills to provide wider UK government with counter-terrorism and nuclear threat reduction solutions.

The role:
As an Electrical & Electronic Engineer on our Undergraduate Placement programme you will be supporting essential project deliverables including producing prototype electronic circuits and devices. Depending on the phase of the project you are assigned to, there is an opportunity to be involved in the design, assembly, test and debug of analogue and digital electronics as well as developing embedded software programs. Our electronics and electrical engineers deliver a wide range of activities that help support projects ranging from core weapons projects to building services and processes, facilities, plant and construction which all help de-risk future systems.
Working within AWE you will also have exposure to wider products and company business, whilst gaining an understanding of how to work within a complex system and structure.

Successful candidates must be available to start on the Undergraduate Programme in August 2021.

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas – if applicable
