This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow and develop into a key contributor for our Home Technical Pricing Team within our Retail Pricing Department. Reporting directly to the Technical Pricing Manager, AXA UK will be able to support the training you need to become a Technical Pricing Analyst. Primarily, you will support projects related to Home Insurance that continually improve statistical models of claims and expenses using both traditional and data science / contemporary techniques. At AXA we’re adopting a Hybrid way of working, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support in the creation, maintenance and deployment of rating models that predict claims cost and allocate expenses
  • Provide insight by creating appropriate datasets and undertaking claims cost or expense analysis
  • Assist in producing and developing appropriate MI to support Pricing decisions
  • Provide technical underwriting and pricing support to assist the business in achieving its plans
  • Support Regulatory changes as needed

Qualifications

  • Strong mathematical skills – with a minimum 2:1 degree in a mathematics related discipline or evidence of equivalent proficiency
  • Ability to demonstrate high levels of problem-solving skills and initiative
  • Knowledge of predictive modelling
  • Effective communication skills to help establish a network within AXA
  • A continuous appetite to learn and develop skills
  • Ability to plan and prioritise own work

Desirable

  • Knowledge of tools such as R, Python, SQL, Excel VBA or other analytical language/tools

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorized to work in the United Kingdom.

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
