AXA Insurance have an exciting opportunity for a talented Pricing Analyst to join our Retail Household Technical Pricing Team. In AXA Retail we help people protect what’s precious to them through personal products in home, motor and travel insurance.

In this role, you’ll become a trusted expert in the field of Technical Pricing and will be responsible for undertaking projects that continually improves statistical models of claims and expenses using both traditional and data science/contemporary techniques. What you’ll be doing

  • Working with some amazing people within the Home Technical Pricing Team where you’ll get the opportunity to learn and develop in the role. Including working closely with Data Science, Market Pricing, and other teams across the business to embed learnings and improve our techniques
  • Creating, maintaining and deploying the rating models that predict claims cost and allocate expenses, for use in live pricing and
  • Performing exploratory analysis to advance our latest thinking and improve modelling methods/efficiency
  • Providing insight by creating appropriate datasets and undertaking claims cost or expense analysis
  • Providing technical underwriting and pricing guidance to assist the business in achieving its plans and support operational areas
  • Contribute to the developing appropriate MI systems to monitor model performance and provide pricing insights
  • Supporting Regulatory change as needed

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in developing predictive models using either traditional actuarial techniques or machine learning
  • Pricing experience and familiarity with the UK Insurance market
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Enthusiastic and proactive team player
  • Demonstrate high levels of problem-solving skills and initiative
  • Experience with analytical tools/languages (such as R, Python, SAS, SQL, Emblem, Excel VBA etc.) is desirable

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorized to work in the United Kingdom.

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
