About us

Explore our business.

Baillie Gifford was established as an investment management partnership over 100 years ago. Today, with over 1,200 people based in Edinburgh, more than 700 clients across the globe, we are an independent investment management business with over £200 billion under management.

At Baillie Gifford, we do much more than just buying shares in companies. We think about a company’s potential to grow significantly in the next five to ten years, which is often influenced by many diverse and conflicting factors.

Our work is a million miles from that stereotype of investors who constantly track markets looking for short-term gains. Instead, our focus is on developing a deep understanding of the underlying drivers behind potential investments. That means questioning everything that happens around us and anticipating the consequences of local, regional and global events. In other words, we try to foresee what the future holds.

The role

Ever wondered how a global investment firm operates? Take a two-year guided tour.

Join this two-year rotational Business Operations programme and experience the full cycle of over a dozen operational teams, which support our growing business.

We wouldn’t expect you to know right now which team you’ll join in two years’ time. That’s precisely why our rotational programme provides such exposure, and graduates are often surprised at the wide range of professional opportunity. Our programme is designed to allow you to work on real projects and develop new ideas in everything from Business Risk to Governance and Sustainability, Client Operations and much more.

And once you’ve built that foundation, launch your career here in a specialism that’s matched to your talents, interests and aspirations. Find your place in Baillie Gifford.
