Our Vacation Schemes give students who are interested in a career as a commercial solicitor a realistic taste of what it’s like working for a global law firm. We think that it’s really important that your experience with us mirrors the reality of the role of a Trainee Solicitor and life at the firm. So we’ll involve you in live transactions, deals and cases and, where possible, we’ll encourage you to attend internal, departmental and client meetings as well as court hearings.
The opportunity to socialise with Trainee Solicitors and others on the Vacation Scheme is important to us so we will host a number of events for you to attend. Recent socials have included rounders in the park, ping pong, pizza making, mini golf and afternoon tea on the Thames.
The Spring Vacation Scheme is two weeks long and is aimed at Final Year students and graduates with a law or non-law degree.
We’ll give you experience in two different seats, and because transactional work is at the heart of what we do, we’ll encourage you to spend one of those seats in a Corporate or Banking team. We won’t expect you to know everything, so we’ll provide training sessions to help familiarise you with some of our typical transactions, and to help you develop a range of key skills that you’ll need as a Trainee Solicitor. You’ll also take part in a client pitch exercise which is a great opportunity to work closely with other people on the Vacation Scheme.
