At BDO, we believe that an environment where everyone is able to be themselves is good for our people, and good for our business. We’re proud of our culture and are committed to increasing access for students of black heritage who are currently under represented in our industry.

On our Black Heritage Virtual Insight programme, you’ll complete a week-long virtual insight experience where you will develop your knowledge of accounting and gain exposure to BDO and our people, which could lead to an offer of a 2022 summer internship and a paid role as a university Brand Ambassador.

The programme runs from 5th-9th July 2021 and provides the perfect opportunity for you to learn more about BDO and the work we do for our clients. You will gain invaluable knowledge and skills that will set you up for a career with us and beyond. You’ll meet our people, learn more about our Diversity and Inclusion strategy and take part in virtual sessions that will bring a career in accounting to life.

At the end of the week, you’ll have the opportunity to fast-track yourself to the final stage of our 2022 summer internship. Students that complete internships with us often go straight onto our graduate programme after university. You can also secure a paid role as a Brand Ambassador on your university campus helping us promote our opportunities to other students.

For this programme, we’re looking for students with a black heritage in their 1st year of a three year course or 2nd year of a four year course, with:

  • A predicted 2:2 degree or higher in any discipline at a UK university
  • Three A-levels or equivalent at A* to C excluding General Studies and Extended Projects
  • 9 to 4 in Maths and English at GCSE/Scottish Standards or equivalent
  • To be available to attend on the dates of the virtual programme
