A key role in our credit control team, supporting the Head of Credit Control and Credit Control Managers in reconciling and controlling the AR general ledgers, implementing projects, and designing and implementing process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconciling bank accounts and providing cash allocation metrics to Service Company Finance.
  • Monitor bank account activity. Working with Investments and Service Company Finance to review banks and calculate investment sweeps.
  • Active ownership of AR ledgers and investigation of unusual transactions.
  • Investigation of issues raised from AR to GL data transfer process.
  • Support internal and external audits of Credit Control. 
  • Continuous improvement of the credit control function. Identify and implement process improvements, embed control framework.
  • Ad Hoc reporting including co-ordination and collection of information to prepare internal reports.
  • Supporting projects and initiatives impacting on Credit Control.

Personal Specification:

Education and Qualifications

  • Qualified or studying towards professional qualification i.e., ACCA, CIMA, ACA preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Must be proficient in the advanced use of MS Excel (i.e., Pivot tables)
  • Good use of MS Word and MS PowerPoint
  • Good understanding of double entry accounting.
  • Problem solver, happy to challenge existing process.
  • Must be able to work across different items of work, meet deadlines and prioritise.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Knowledge of insurance company accounting and operations is preferred.
  • Previous experience of balance sheet reconciliations and ownership of a trial balance preferred.
  • Previous experience of process improvement and project implementation across a large team preferred.
  • Previous experience of implementing and maintaining financial controls preferred.
  • Experience of working across a variety of finance, underwriting and banking systems preferred.
