Product Development:

The product development team is a dedicated team that drives the delivery of new and existing products for UK/RoW approved Business Plans. It consists of two main areas: product delivery, and post-launch support & turbocharging.

  • We create cross-functional agile teams, led by a dedicated product delivery manager, and working with underwriters, wordings, operations, finance, claims, compliance, IT, marketing and broker relations. Product delivery can include market research, data analysis and product testing to support a strong business case.
  • Post-launch not only supports the launch of new products, but also reviews existing products and market performance. The three main areas of post launch support are:
    • Turbocharging – focused effort to accelerate growth of a product
    • Continued growth – product is set to achieve steady growth, but may require ad hoc support
    • Recalibration – product is underperforming and requires assistance.

Job Summary:           

Supporting the lifecycle of selected products from launch, including launch and post-launch support and subsequently turbocharging and remediation

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Product Development and Post Launch Manager across a range of activities with specific accountabilities for own portfolio of products and/or areas of agreed responsibility:
  • Launch support for selected new products, activities to include
    • Working with Product Delivery managers and underwriters at an early stage to support and manage product launches (both internal and external)
    • Developing and supporting the implementation of post-launch plans to support launched products over an initial 12-18 month period
    • Identification, assessment and prioritisation of products for turbocharging or remediation

Post-launch support for selected products (including turbocharging and remediation)

    • Managing analysis of product performance and segmentation to date
    • Managing research and presentation of external market analysis
    • Working with Marketing and underwriters to build market awareness , including primary role on creation of thought leadership, social media content and other collateral
    • Working with Broker Relations point people to develop and implement Broker Relations product plan and cross-selling initiatives
    • Working with Internal Communications to publicise products receiving support
    • Working with underwriters and Product Development to identify and support implementation of product enhancements and/or further launches
  • Managing pipeline of post-launch products
  • Helping Product Development and Post Launch Manager to manage outputs of the interns
  • Occasional product delivery when capacity allows

  • Experience working within a knowledge gathering, analysis and distribution environment
  • Capable of scoping, coordinating and implementing research projects
