    We are looking for an Internal Communications Officer [Accrington (Hybrid), £26-28k p.a. (d.o.e.) + many benefits] to work within our People team.

    Our Internal Communications Officer will be the custodian of the Bensons intranet, in collaboration with key stakeholders to turn it into the first-place destinations where colleagues go to find key business information and copies of all the Internal Communications material.

    Job specification

    • Co-ordinate the delivery of the internal communications annual content plan, liaising with key contacts across the business, managing stakeholders and deliver engaging content that brings to life our business strategy to all audience groups.
    • Planning, researching, and creating compelling content, being obsessive and curious so that our amazing products and colleagues are always front and centre of everything we do.
    • Publishing and maintaining content at pace via all our centrally managed channels so that colleagues have easy access to accurate, timely and on brand news and information about Bensons.
    • Acting as a first point of contact to dealing with correspondence via the comms inbox, compiling and preparing reports, presentations, and correspondence, managing databases, online folders to keep historic corporate information safe, implementing and maintaining all department procedures and administrative systems, data and distribution lists.
    • Familiar with well-known digital communication tools such as Microsoft SharePoint, Teams and Viva Engage plus other digital channels, with video editing capabilities.
    • Helping to ensure the smooth running of the department with administration and logistics support as well as pitching in to help with the delivery of campaigns, events and projects or completing tasks on behalf of the Communications Manager and Head of Internal Communications
    • To manage all other smaller, bespoke virtual events and projects

    About you

    Qualifications & experience

    • Educated to A level/higher education or a degree in internal communications or technology may be advantageous.

    Knowledge & skills

    • Minimum 1 years’ experience of having worked in a busy and hard-working communications team, preferably for a multi-site organisation with strong administration skills
    • A love of messaging and a knack for creating and tailoring content for different stakeholders, audiences, and channels with a special focus on internal communications.
    • To be a whizz at using digital communication tools and software to create, edit and publish exciting content in all forms (e.g. written, film, audio, graphics).
    • A confident, organised, and down to earth outlook, confident at building useful networks quickly & someone who is calm, flexible, and unfazed by seniority or tight deadlines
    • Brilliant personal communication skills so that you can express your point of view effectively but great listening skills too
    • To be comfortable working on your own initiative with an energetic, ‘can-do’ approach and the determination to find solutions to unexpected changes and obstacles
    • The ability to flex your working hours and location on occasion with notice
