The first six weeks
In your first month and a half at Berenberg, you will take part in classroom-based training to give you basic skills in a wide variety of subjects. During this time, you will undertake an intensive course before sitting your Financial Regulations and Securities exams.
When the induction stage is over, you will spend the next 14 months rotating through different areas of the bank. This programme allows you to gain experience in all aspects of our business, work with a broad range of teams, and can include the opportunity to spend time in one of our international offices. During the rotations, you will spend time being managed by a variety of senior people, and you will make a contribution to our business while learning new skills and figuring out which area suits you best for your permanent position.
The associates academy
Once you have joined a permanent team at the end of your rotations, you will join our associates’ academy. This will give you the chance to take part in more advance training in areas such as forensic accounting, effectively using financial data sources, and presenting to large groups of people. We also ask senior people from across Berenberg to offer specialist sessions on their particular areas of expertise. We support all associates to study for and attain CFA chartered status through a formal CFA programme.
