Corporate Communications department is responsible for protecting, building and promoting the image of the BMW Group and its products in the UK. This involves working with a broad range of media and others who influence public opinion. The team we are recruiting for is responsible for product (BMW and MINI) communications in the UK, which includes organising events to promote our newest vehicles to a broad range of media.

What will you be doing?

  • Support the team in a variety of ways including (but not limited to):
    • assisting with event organisation (planning and execution); international and national press launches, guest management, logistics planning, delivering event assets (printed and digital media)
    • assisting with fleet management: book vehicle loans, liaise with journalists and internal/external teams to ensure accurate collection and delivery arrangements and cleaning of cars, create and maintain vehicle specification sheets (including finance quotes)
    • assisting with operational administration (eg maintenance of contact databases), obtaining quotes from suppliers and raising purchase orders, 
  • Liaise with media as required - supporting/researching media enquiries, working with the PR team, replying to journalist emails, sharing links to existing press resources
  • Compile summary of recent coverage for internal and network contacts
  • Liaise with other (internal) departments and (external) suppliers as required
  • Ensure internal reporting database and image library are kept fully updated

Qualifications and Experience

  • Studying towards a Bachelor degree with a predicted grade of 2:1 or higher- preferably in PR, Business or Marketing subjects.
  • Relevant work experience is expected – we'd like to see a genuine interest in the field of communications, whether it’s public relations or event management. It does not need to have been particularly lengthy – two weeks in the summer holidays at a local PR agency or six months editing the school magazine are worth mentioning! We want to see initiative and drive – if you’re studying for a communications-related degree (which is not a requirement), tell us more than just what you're studying. 
  • Excellent communication skills – whether in person, on the phone or written - are essential as is consistent and reliable attention to detail.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Powerpoint, Excel) is required.
