We are seeking a self-motivated graduate looking to take the next step in their career within the Logistics team at BMW Plant Oxford, commencing September 2022. The Logistics function is responsible for service providers and part suppliers to ensure a seamless supply of material to production areas at Plant Oxford. Parts are delivered through a variety of delivery concepts from multiple locations worldwide, and we must ensure material is efficiently unloaded, stored and parts delivered internally through stable processes. Our graduate programme will give an insight into logistics and change management processes in a high-volume automotive environment.

What will you be doing?

  • Gaining in-depth understanding of logistics in an automotive environment.
  • Leading and taking part in multiple projects with other logistics functions, our service provider and colleagues from other BMW Group Plants.
  • Communicating with suppliers and developing your negotiation skills.
  • Developing and improving internal processes.
  • Monitoring and reporting internal KPI’s.
  • Optimising warehouse operations and logistical processes using data.
  • Working within a diverse team to problem-solve operational topics to ensure continuous production.

You will be able to experience the global Logistics functions at Plant Oxford such as:
Material Control, Inventory Control, Production Control, Vehicle Distribution, Physical Logistics, Warehouse Management, Inbound and Outbound Transport, Layout and Structure Planning, Supply Chain Planning, Material Flow Planning, Line Side Planning, Packaging Planning, Transport Planning and VPS optimisation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Studying towards or have attained a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, IT or Enginneering at a 2.2 or above.
  • A keen interest in working in the automotive industry and logistics.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office tools.
  • Problem-solving skills in an analytical, innovative manner.
  • Capable of prioritising and organising tasks independently.
  • Able to thrive within a dynamic and high performing team.
