Business Area/Dept Overview

BNP Paribas Global Markets business offers a broad range of products and services in the global interest rates, credit , currency, equities and commodity markets. Global Markets helps their franchise of clients find effective ways to raise and invest capital as well as manage their exposure to risk.

The FXPB Client Service team is part of Global Market Operations and is dedicated to provide a premium service to PB clients. The team act as a single point of contact for the client and manage everything from the initial onboarding of a client to the daily interaction of post trade activity and building/sustaining the client relationship through value added services.

Teams based in London, New York, and Hong Kong provide seamless solutions in multiple asset classes, ensuring clients benefit from local support and expertise as well as proactive management of their issues.

Purpose and Scope of Role

  • Purpose: The FX Prime Brokerage Client Service Representative is the single point of contact for clients. They are responsible for running point on on-boarding new clients as well as the daily coverage of client accounts and looking at ways to add value to the BNPP and client relationship.
  • Scope: London team with oversight to other regions.

Key Responsibilities of Role

  • Support the operational set up of all new clients for the FXPB workflow. This will involve static data set up, execution of legal and on boarding documents, internal readiness reviews, and other ad hoc tasks associated with the operational set up of a client.
  • Coordinating the on-boarding of a new client by interacting with various departments and attending client meetings to build the relationship and requirement gathering.
  • Maintaining responsibility of tasks by other areas, and ensuring completeness of the on-boarding process.
  • Central point of contact for both BAU and Relationship Management for clients. Attend client meetings where necessary and build client profile to enhance client relationship and bring efficiencies and opportunities to the relationship.
  • Monitor, coordinate, automate and review various daily reconciliations.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail around trade capture, reconciliations and processes.
  • Coordinate and execute FXPB testing. This will involve static data set up, creation of testing scenarios, facilitate client position reporting, margin reporting and other ad hoc issues in the front to back workflow.
  • Liaise with clients, banks and third party platforms regarding trade discrepancies.
  • Build and maintain excellent working relationships with other internal partners such as Relationship Management, Legal, Sales, Trading, Middle Office, Collateral teams, IT, Risk, and Back Office.
  • Management of Trade life cycle events for FXPB, such as Option exercises and NDF fixings.
  • Responsible for Invoicing of clients.
  • Participating and Chairing Projects.
  • Process Re-engineering of current processes, and generating fresh ideas.
  • Good working knowledge of margin and NOP calculations for risk monitoring.
  • Building KPIs around client volumes, billing, issues etc. to provide a value added service to clients to improve flow and efficiencies and identify problematic areas to be worked on.
  • Reviewing and maintaining procedures to ensure they are kept up to date with processes

Experience, Qualifications and Competencies

Essential

  • Strong experience within an FXPB Client Service Role essential.
  • A thorough understanding of financial markets and products.
  • Previous experience in the FX industry in a Trade Support role environment essential.
  • Proficiency In Excel.
  • Experience with Traiana and ECN related products advantageous.
  • Good working knowledge of Options and NDFs.
  • Good understanding of Risk and PnL parameters.
  • Client focus – Sees stakeholders as well as external clients as customers .
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Organised and delivery-focused, with attention to detail.
  • Good influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • Good time management skills with ability to multi-task & prioritise workload.
  • Comfortable operating with a strong level of autonomy.
  • Pro-active in general, taking own initiatives to prevent risks/issues.
