    Opportunities available

    Quality Control Restricted (1 Position)

    You would support the Quality Control Department in the testing and release of Foot & Mouth disease antigen and vaccine batches. To perform routine testing related to active ingredient and finished product as well as utilities and environmental testing as required to maintain compliance on a GMP manufacturing site.

    Quality Systems (1 Position)

    You would provide support to the Quality Systems Team spanning a variety of subject areas. The primary focus area will be Documentation and Training management activities.

    Quality Validation (1 Position)

    The main purpose of this role is as a member of the Quality Team to support validation and quality assurance activities for the Pirbright Site.

    MSAT - Assay Development/Transfer (1 Position)

    As BIAH Pirbright looks to reinforce and develop methods for batch manufacturing in process and final release control, there is a requirement to support with analytical development on both existing and future products. The role sits within the Manufacturing, Science and Technology (MSAT) group and offers an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced Operational environment. This role will take an active lead to either develop/optimise an existing method or lead the full site to site transfer of an analytical method from our partner site in Lyon, France.

    MSAT – Process Transfer (1 Position)

    There is an ongoing project to transfer products and manufacturing processes from the BIAH Pirbright site to a partner site in Lyon, France. This role will become a central member of the Sending Site Transfer team, supporting the teams both at the Sending and Receiving sites to ensure all processes and methods are transferred on time and in a compliant way.

    Requirements

    • Applicants will be studying for a BSc Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or other Biological Sciences degree. Applicants must have the ability for independent travel to work and other sites.
    • Applicants must be able to comply with bio-safety regulations that apply to working in a SAPO4 facility.
    • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

    Key competancies

    • Strong verbal communication skills within a business environment, able to speak clearly and fluently, expressing opinions information, and key points of an argument with clarity and simplicity.
    • Strong written communication skills, able to write clearly, succinctly and correctly, writes convincingly in an engaging, structured and logical manner, avoiding unnecessary use of jargon or complicated language.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office essential with the ability to adapt knowledge to use BI’s local systems/platforms/technology.
    • Sets clear objectives, plans activities well in advance, manages time effectively, identifying and organising resources needed to accomplish tasks, monitoring performance against deadlines.
    • Able to work as team member, establishing good working relationships, adapting to the team as required; also, able to work as an individual contributor with minimal supervision.
    • Follows instructions from others without unnecessarily challenging authority. Follows procedures and policies, keeping to schedules but remains flexible to changing priorities.
    • Professional approach to work that upholds BIs values and behaviours and complies with all legal obligations, GMP, Biosafety and HSE compliance requirements.
