    We're a multi-award-winning digital payments platform within the automotive industry. We work with over 4,000 automotive retailers, helping drivers to pay for motoring costs, accessories and other services through a variety of different payment options.

    Bumper is a fast-growing payments scale-up and we’re excited to continue building on our growth having recently completed a successful Series B funding round. We’re looking to hire a dynamic and passionate German speaker to join the team and support our German operations, whilst also helping to support UK customers, based in our Sheffield office.

    Our Head Office is in Sheffield City Centre, with offices also based in London and Turkey. We've recently brought retailers in Germany, Spain and the Netherlands on board, and plan to expand further into Europe and beyond - world domination here we come!

    A bit about the role

    Our new International Customer Support Agent will join our Sheffield team, reporting into our Customer Operations Manager, and will be a part of the team responsible for helping our customers and automotive partners in the UK and Germany.

    The ideal candidate would be an enthusiastic individual who is fluent to a business-level proficiency in English and German, and is keen to use their language skills in a business setting. This role will provide opportunities to collaborate with other teams and learn about the inner workings of a successful fintech business.

    An International Customer Support Agent will handle a variety of inbound and outbound calls, live chats and emails from customers and car dealerships with a range of queries. The role also entails assisting with onboarding new partners, translation work, the preparation of marketing materials, compiling analysis on the performance of German operations, and assisting the field sales team in Germany - this is a great opportunity for a varied and exciting role!

    Day to day responsibilities

    • Inbound customer support for UK and German customers, including handling customer contacts via telephone, email and live chat whilst striving for high first-time resolutions and maintaining a focus on delivering excellent customer service and satisfaction
    • Assisting UK & German customers with their repayment queries focusing on high-quality conversations to establish repayment arrangements that are affordable for the customer and commercially viable for the company
    • Onboarding new dealerships wishing to sign up to use Bumper's platform, explaining how the service works and supporting them in completing KYB checks
    • Translation of copy from English to German, including but not limited to blog articles, website copy, and marketing materials
    • Producing performance reports in collaboration with our Data team
    • Producing marketing materials in collaboration with our Marketing Manager
    • Reporting any technical issues to team managers for resolution and to continue improving our systems and platforms
    • Achieving and maintaining targets for quality and productivity as set by the company
    • Adhering to company policies and Treat Customers Fairly (TCF) guidelines in all customer interactions, as well as ensuring compliance with industry regulations and data protection laws
    • Assisting the Germany Sales team as required

    Now a bit about you

    We are a passionate and professional team, and we are looking to welcome a German speaking International Customer Support Agent with a shared interest in our scale-up journey and the aim to embed Bumper as the No.1 payments platform in Europe.

    Our ideal candidate would need to provide the following

    • At least Business-level fluency in German
    • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline (for example Business, Management, Languages, etc)
    • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel etc)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Proven ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
    • A passion for customer service and delivering high standards of customer satisfaction
    • Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to be a team player

    Nice to haves

    • Previous experience in customer service/financial services/dealing with debt and forbearance would be advantageous

    This role is office-based, and will allow for flexible hours that we are happy to negotiate around your university schedule.
