BWB Consulting has an exciting opportunity for a 12-month Air Quality Placement Student in our Manchester office, starting in the Summer/Autumn of 2022. The role will be based in Manchester, with possible travel to Nottingham required.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated with a positive attitude to learning and development, with plenty of support from the wider team.

Sitting within our Air Quality team in Manchester, the successful applicant would be expected to get involved in specialist technical work such as air quality, dust and odour monitoring, modelling and analysis, whilst working as part of a small, integrated, progressive team.

Our work is varied and widespread supporting our clients on projects both locally and throughout the UK as required. We value innovation, while always seeking to provide commercial solutions to complex environmental issues.

About the team

BWB is a leading Engineering and Environmental Consultancy with over 300 people based in five offices throughout the UK. We have an established reputation for delivering high quality environmental and engineering consultancy services to corporate, industrial, development and financial clients across a variety of sectors.

The Air Quality team are a rapidly expanding part of BWB’s environmental service offering, with involvement at all stages in the planning cycle from feasibility through to master planning, planning application support and the discharge of planning conditions. We also provide strategic advice and asset management services, and offer clever solutions to some challenging issues.

We are working on many different types of projects, including new road and rail schemes, new residential settlements, high-rise city centre buildings, supermarkets, leisure developments and industrial and commercial schemes.

About you

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident, self-motivated and willing to take the initiative.

Ideally the successful candidate will be in the process of gaining a science based, air quality related degree and will be able to show interest in air quality and be keen to develop a career within the air quality consultancy industry.    Membership of the Institute of Air Quality Management and Institution of Environmental Sciences is also desirable.
