BWB Consulting has an exciting opportunity for an Air Quality Consultant to join our Manchester office.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated with a desire to contribute to a growing team and develop their professional career with BWB.
Sitting within our Air Quality team, the successful applicant would be expected to undertake specialist technical work such as air and odour dispersion modelling, air quality/odour/dust monitoring and report writing whilst working as part of a growing, integrated, progressive team. There is the opportunity to work on projects from proposal stage right through to completion, to be involved with Project Management and to contribute towards the management of project finances, and undertake mentoring tasks for junior team members. The successful applicant will also be expected to undertake business development activities and key account management and have a significant contribution to the direction and growth of our team.
Our work is varied and widespread supporting our clients on projects both locally and throughout the UK as required. We value innovation, while always seeking to provide commercial solutions to complex environmental issues.
About the team
BWB is a leading Engineering and Environmental Consultancy with over 300 people based in five offices throughout the UK. We have an established reputation for delivering high quality environmental and engineering consultancy services to corporate, industrial, development and financial clients across a variety of sectors.
The Air Quality team are a rapidly expanding part of BWB’s environmental service offering, with involvement at all stages in the planning cycle from feasibility through to master planning, planning application support and the discharge of planning conditions. We also provide strategic advice and asset management services, and offer clever solutions to some challenging issues. We are also growing our capability to offer air quality monitoring, odour assessments and Environmental Permitting consultancy services.

About you
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident, self-motivated and willing to take the initiative, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Willingness to travel and a full driving license are essential to the role.
We are looking for someone who can commit themselves to the task in hand and where necessary go above and beyond. Effective communication is key to the role, and the successful candidate will be able to create a positive and innovative atmosphere and motivate people to give their best results. A disciplined approach will be key, as well as an ability to develop and comply with the systems, procedures and timescales set and to develop your own monitoring systems to help you achieve your objectives and identify improvements.
The successful candidate will have a relevant air quality or environmental sciences related degree and be willing to work towards an associate membership of the Institution of Environmental Sciences and Institute of Air Quality Management. An appropriate Masters degree is also desirable. At least one years’ experience of air quality consultancy, including air dispersion modelling, would be advantageous.
