About the role

Join our team of experienced planners and begin your journey to professional chartership today with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI). We will motivate and encourage you as you work on high profile projects across the UK on behalf of a variety of private and public sector clients.

Over the two-year programme, you will be supported through the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) APC and will gain exposure to working with your own clients, experience, and training to help develop your skills and knowledge.

You will become a confident and competent planner and be ready to step into a qualified role in the business as part of our national Planning and Development team.

Working between our office in London and home, we will support you to work flexibly and embrace new ways of working.

You can expect to be involved in

  • Providing clients with strategic advice on proposals.
  • Preparation of applications for planning consent.
  • Pre-application consultation and negotiation.
  • Stakeholder engagement and management of the consultation process.
  • Support planning applications through the decision-making and post-decision processes.
  • Coordinating multi-disciplinary teams. 
  • Undertake studies to support local authority planners or development agencies.
  • Preparation of planning policy and supporting documents.
  • Appeal services.

What we’re looking for

  • A combined RTPI accredited qualification, or ‘spatial’ and ‘specialist’ RTPI accredited qualifications.
  • Commitment and enthusiasm for learning as you’ll be undertaking your RTPI APC qualification across the two-year programme.
  • An interest in the property industry and the overall property cycle.
  • A strong desire to be successful within the property industry.
  • Team working skills and ability to work across multiple disciplines.
