Role Description
The programme is for 3 years and will be filled with interesting and high-profile assignments. You will provide in-house civil engineering expertise to internal stakeholders including Commercial, Engineering, Construction, Operation, and Maintenance functions. You will also ensure that the civil and building element of each project is delivered safely, to program and budget, fulfilling the needs of our clients.
You can look forward to a mix of on-the-job learning, training modules and project work. As you develop, you’ll find the challenges will increase in complexity and responsibility. Our engineering programme is accredited by the IET (Institution of Engineering & Technology), so you know you’ll be on the right track to become registered as a Chartered Engineer should you choose to and this typically takes 4-5 years.
We want you to experience as much as possible and be able to soak up and learn about the wonderful world of Engineering and life at Centrica. We will be with you throughout your journey to give you all the support you need!

Who You Are
If you are passionate about engineering, really making a difference and have a genuine desire to learn about Centrica, then we would love to hear from you. In addition, we would like you to demonstrate:
- 1st or 2:1 Master’s degree in a civil or structural (or closely related) engineering discipline, accredited by the relevant engineering institution
- Have the right to work in the UK
- A passionate and creative Engineer who can deliver solutions within tight timeframes and implement them safely and successfully
- Someone with proven capability in the specification of civil/structural requirements for industrial and commercial energy projects
- Focussed on producing civil/structural designs that minimise risk to our installers and customers alike
- Willing to relocate within the UK to help make the most of all the opportunities we offer
- In possession of a full UK driving licence, as you may be required to travel to remote locations
- Available to start your graduate programme in October 2023
