We have an exciting opportunity for a University Placement Student to join our Finance department for 12 months, to gain hands-on experience mastering financial processes.
What are you going to do?
Throughout your 12-month placement, you will spend time within 3 core teams across our finance department. You will start your rotation with the purchasing to pay team which forms part of the accounts payable department, you will then move on to the record to report team where you will learn processes such as month-end and understand reporting in more detail, and finally you will spend time with the order to cash team where you will learn about processes such as billing and credit control.
Throughout your time in each department, you will be fully immersed in the financial processes, learning systems, and the best practices to ensure you leave your placement with new knowledge and skills to take forward in your studies and career. You will gain insight into financial reporting, raising invoices and processing payments accurately and timely, investigating and resolving overdue payments, liaising with suppliers and internal contacts to resolve any invoicing queries, and providing insightful and accurate information for finance performance reports. You will work with different stakeholders during each rotation you will be involved in any projects or new initiatives.
What are we looking for?
Our ideal candidate will be studying a Financial or Business-related Degree at University and looking for a 3rd-year placement opportunity to gain valuable work experience. We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest in Finance, has good numeracy and analytics skills and has good attention to detail, is a logical thinker and natural problem solver. You will be IT literate and have a knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Excel. You must be confident with working with different areas of the business and be an excellent communicator.
