About WMPF

WMPF is one of the UK’s largest pension funds providing local authority pension benefits for employees across the West Midlands. We manage and administer the pension interests of over 330,000 scheme members, 800+ employers and currently have over £21 billion in assets under management.

We are recruiting for a Graduate Management Trainee to join our continually growing Pension Services area. Our brand-new offices are based at the i9 building in Wolverhampton and is an excellent location for transport links by car, bus, train and tram.

What the day will look like

Responsibilities include

  • To provide support to employers in their use of the pension administration platform and to proactively engage with employers that may require additional support.
  • To provide a key role in supporting the Fund’s triennial actuarial valuation and annual employer funding review (through assessment of the Fund’s assets and liabilities).
  • To provide valuable support to the Fund’s employers, including self-service options, processing of data and benefit information, annual accounting disclosures and larger scale project work.
  • To collate and analyse data and information to inform review the risk profile (covenant strength) of the Fund’s employers.
  • To assist with the onboarding and exit of employers within the LGPS.

About you

The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a willingness to engage with employers. The successful candidate will hold a degree in the relevant discipline and have the right to work in the UK.
