WMPF is one of the UK’s largest pension funds providing local authority pension benefits for employees across the West Midlands. We manage and administer the pension interests of over 330,000 scheme members, 800+ employers and currently have over £21 billion in assets under management.

We are recruiting for Graduate Management Trainee to join our continually growing Finance Service area. Our brand-new offices are based at the i9 building in Wolverhampton and is an excellent location for transport links by car, bus, train and tram.

What the day will look like

Responsibilities include

  • To provide supportin the delivery of the key functions within the finance team including:
    • Fund Accounting;
    • Pension Finance;
    • Treasury Management; and
    • Financial Reporting
  • To provide dedicated support in the delivery of the Finance and wider Fund priorities, implementing agreed objectives, performance monitoring, reviewing and reporting progress and ensuring all timescales are adhered to.
  • To develop, design and implement projects and support programmes, including budget management.
  • To provide technical support to the Finance service to deliver key outcomes identified in their Service Plans

About you

The ideal candidate will have strong mathematical skills and excellent attention to detail. They will hold a degree in a relevant discipline and have the right to work in the UK.
