We’re changing up the future

We’re on a mission to build the UK’s finest digital infrastructure and unleash Britain’s potential. We’re connecting communities, boosting businesses, and giving everyone access to superfast broadband. We’re also changing up the industry - we might be growing fast but we still behave like a start-up, with an open and inclusive environment where people can be themselves, speak up and make time for what matters.

What’s in it for you?

This is a fantastic opportunity to take the lead on and deliver a project within a specific division at CityFibre. You’ll get invaluable hands-on work experience, learning from our talented people whilst still adding real value to the business and helping us to transform communities across the UK.

You'll receive a salary of £20,000 which will be pro-rata across a six-week period.

What will you be doing?

Joining our busy contract management team, supporting the commercial management of City builds to ensure that contractual commitments are met by both us and our suppliers whilst tracking and controlling spend. This will include:

  • Supporting assessing and processing applications for payment and compensation events in line with contractual requirements
  • Tracking and controlling spend against budget, producing forecast cost reporting
  • Attending contractual governance sessions to support our build teams, producing relevant information and recording actions and outcomes
  • Spending time on-site to view the build of our network collecting information for Early Warning and Compensation events

What will you bring to the role?

You’ll be on track for a 2:1 or higher in a quantity surveying or construction management related degree (or have received one if moving onto your master’s). You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will also need a considered approach to tasks and a strong competency in Microsoft Excel.

Our unique culture

We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer; we celebrate diversity, we believe everyone has a voice and we’re committed to creating an inclusive environment for all. Even though we come from different backgrounds and do different jobs, we’re united by The CityFibre Way - our unique code of behaviours that inspires how we think, act and work. We back each other, think smart and act fast, and we’re passionate about giving it our best to build a legacy together.

You'll need to be in the penultimate year of your Undergraduate Degree, or heading into your master's year in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management. Our summer placements start in July and are for 6 weeks over the University summer holidays.
