Our internships are ideal for current students and recent graduates in the sciences seeking to gain an insight into life at a fast-growing medical communications consultancy. We work with a wide range of clients, including the industry’s most successful pharmaceutical and medical technology companies, patient and public health bodies and charitable organisations.

You will be presented with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a variety of projects, from medical communications, medical affairs, health economics and evidence synthesis, all of which involve the assimilation, interpretation and creative presentation of data from clinical trials. Specific tasks could include, supporting the preparation of medical education slides, performing systematic searches of medical literature, development of clinical trial manuscripts, or assimilating clinical and cost-effectiveness evidence to support HTA submissions to NICE.

You will typically be working on two to three projects in different disease areas at any one time. Interns receive one-to-one training on the technical aspects of the role and learn about project management and effective communication with clients.

Scientific Interns will usually be given the opportunity to experience work across multiple divisions. However, if you have a particular interest in our services please indicate this in your cover letter. Our Scientific Interns generally work across our HTA, Market Access, Literature Reviews & Synthesis, Publications, Medical Affairs, Rare Diseases, MedTech, Real-World Evidence and Pro Bono divisions.

About you

This internship is suited to recent graduates as well as current students who are permitted to complete full time internships either during the holidays or as a placement as a part of their programme of study.

Essential requirements for the role are:

  • A degree level or higher qualification in a scientific discipline (minimum 2.1 or expected 2.1). We welcome applications from candidates with a diverse range of specialisms, including but not limited to; biology, chemistry, pharmacy and medicine
  • The ability to communicate scientific material clearly in both written and oral form – some experience in planning and writing scientific documents would be helpful
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written English
  • Organisational skills and self-motivation
  • Fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • A genuine interest in healthcare and an eagerness to learn about new areas of science

We are currently recruiting for our April start date in our Cambridge and London offices and the internship will run from Monday 19th April to Friday 1st June 2022 inclusive. Interviews are expected to take place in the week commencing 7th February 2022 and will give you the opportunity to meet with members of our scientific teams. We will also ask you to complete a short timed assessment, however this will require no preparation ahead of the interview.

The stipend for interns is £1,500 per calendar month, and you will be entitled to statutory holiday.
