At Covington, we recognise the differences among us as an asset and a source of strength. We believe that excellence in the practice of law knows no racial, ethnic, gender, religious, sexual orientation, or other boundaries. We are therefore pleased to announce the launch of our Diversity Skills Series, which is open to underrepresented groups to increase diversity and access to the legal profession.

Eligibility

Applications are open to law and non-law students from any underrepresented group (any multicultural background, students with disabilities, LGBTQ+, first generation university students). We are also open to receive applications from other students who have faced adversity in their education. Applicants should be on track for a 2.1 degree.

What does it involve?

A series of presentations from October to February focusing on the skills students need to master to be successful throughout the recruitment process. Students are able to apply for all of the available sessions or can pick and choose sessions as they see fit.

Sessions

This session will focus on how to navigate the application process and how to approach an interview. The session will also provide you with an opportunity to put your skills into practice in a mock interview.

This interactive session focusses on why commercial awareness is important, how you can develop your commercial awareness and demonstrate it throughout the application process.

  • Networking Skills Workshop (18 November)

This session will focus on how you can build your personal brand and enhance your networking skills.

  • Diversity at Covington (9 December)
