As a member of the UK team, you'll support local and international projects across the transportation and energy sectors, including railways, highways, metros, marine, wind, hydro, and more. 

You'll be joined by hundreds of skilled experts, collaborating over the entire lifecycle of a project – from idea, concept and design, to operation and maintenance within our portfolio of tunnels & underground structures, bridges, complex structures, ground engineering and reclamation projects.

The Role

In this position, you'll join our global team of experts and work closely with the Derby engineering team on a 12 Month placement starting from the summer of 2021. From day one, you'll be undertaking basic calculations of design work on technically challenging projects, while receiving on-going professional development so that you achieve your career ambitions.

On a day-to-day basis, you'll be responsible for:

  • Production of engineering design and details in accordance with project requirements.
  • Preparation of calculations, written reports and checking of drawings.
  • Checking of design calculations and drawings done by other engineers.
  • Visits to the site as required.

Furthermore, you'll preferably be:

  • Studying toward a master's degree either in Civil, Structural Engineering and aspire to become a Chartered Engineer.
  • You'll have the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • You'll have excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
