The role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Analytical Engineering Placement Student to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Accelera Business segment in UK, Milton Keynes. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence 7 th July 2025.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • The role provides the opportunity to participate within teams of engineers and technicians supporting development of Li-ion cell battery technology.
  • The role will develop an understanding of fundamental FEA approach for battery pack structure analysis, considering its strength, fatigue and durability response.
  • Apply and support the delivery and validation of the battery systems performance requirements through virtual analysis.
  • Provide input and negotiation with cross-functional and cross-discipline technical experts and senior-level engineers.
  • Ownership of problem resolution for moderately complex components, products, systems, sub-systems or services with a greater degree of technical complexity and ambiguity with greater accountability to the project team.
  • Opportunity to provide independent execution of established work processes and systems, while still developing technology or product knowledge and engaging with the improvement of systems and processes.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Working towards a degree in Mechanical/Materials/Automotive/Aviation or Marine engineering.
  • Excellent IT Skills, in particular MS office, CAD software and design.
  • Knowledge on element software or Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is a plus.
  • A willingness to challenge the norm and constantly look for improvements.
