The role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Current Product Engineering Placement Student to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Components Business Segment in Darlington. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Supporting the identification, resolution and implementation of fixes on key product issues with Automotive OEM’s.
  • Site visitation and field investigation for potential product issues.
  • Owning product issue projects following the 7 step process including Fault tree analysis, field data analysis and route cause analysis.
  • Vehicle and test cell data analysis using Cummins own analysis tools and MATLAB.
  • Working closely with engineering functional experts depending on the project to understand the assignable cause and drive a resolution for the end users in a timely manner.
  • Involvement in the placement student team community involvement team planning charity and local community support events.

About you

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Currently studying a STEM subject at degree level (sandwich placement)
  • Excellent computing skills; Experience with Microsoft Office desirable.
  • Good team working, communication and task prioritisation.
  • Enthusiasm and interest in Engineering required
