The role

We are looking for an active and driven Human Resources Power Systems – Placement Student to join our team specializing in Human Resources to have a great opportunity to develop and gain a good understanding of Cummins HR policies and procedures for our Power Systems Business Segment in Daventry. During your 12-month placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Support plant recruitment – coordinating applications, contacting managers, arranging interviews etc.
  • Assist with the coordination of future placement and graduate recruitment, in conjunction with the Corporate Recruitment organisation.
  • Coordinate the Cummins Driver Safety Training and Driver License Checks.
  • Maintaining HR documentation exit interview data, photo library, organisation charts and work instructions.
  • Where appropriate attend disciplinary and grievance meetings and taking minutes.
  • Supporting new HR initiatives and participating in HR lead projects and assist with other generalist HR duties as and when required by the department.

About you

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • We are looking for a wide range of applicants studying towards a Bachelor or Master's degree in Human Resources or Business Management with modules in Human Resources.
  • The ability to be a team player as well as good use of initiative; with excellent communication skills both written and verbal are required
  • PC skills, e.g. Microsoft Office will prove advantageous, particularly in Excel.
  • Has experience in, and can demonstrate, relevant examples of Cummins core values e.g. voluntary work, community involvement activities, working with disadvantaged groups, charity related support, delivering superior results, teamwork, competencies and outside education experiences.
