The role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Project Coordination – Placement Student to join our team specializing in Product Quality to get a great opportunity to support various projects related to product problem solving issues for our Power Systems business segment in Daventry.

During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Support Implementation Coordinators and Project Managers with all aspects of Project Management from multiple global engineering platforms.
  • Maintain, track, and update web-based project management database. As an administrator, this involves working closely together with Technical Leads and Project Managers to drive the process and data management forward.
  • Participate in and manage 6 Sigma projects to improve current product quality processes.
  • Organise and facilitate global meetings to update business leaders on project progress.
  • Create and maintain timing plans using the project management information system, tools and processes to ensure that tasks are completed within the required timeline.
  • Excel and Minitab data analysis and ad hoc reports.

About you

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Studying towards College, university, or equivalent degree in Business Management, Project Management or a related subject and not graduating this academic year.
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills; flexible and independent but enjoying a teamwork & work ethic.
  • Has experience in, and can demonstrate, relevant examples of Cummins core values e.g. voluntary work, community involvement activities, working with disadvantaged groups, charity related support, delivering superior results, competencies and outside education experiences.
  • Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
