The role

We are looking for a passionate Quality Placement Student to join our team specialising in product quality for our Engine and Components Business Units within the Darlington Campus. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential.

As a Quality placement student with us you’ll be able to use the theoretical knowledge gained at University and really put it in to practice.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Supporting both the Customer and Plant Quality Team to implement continuous improvements.
  • Monitor, measure and improve key business processes impacting quality performance.
  • Supporting Plant Quality through data analysis and investigation to maintain quality performance.
  • Compile and maintain the communication of Plant Quality data to internal stakeholders.
  • Engaging with internal teams supporting and implementing problem solving tools.
  • Support the Internal Audit programme and manage audit gaps throughout the assembly line and work towards closing the gaps by setting up additional quality audits/checklist questions at point of fit & audit stations.

About you

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Working towards a Mechanical, Automotive, or similar Engineering degree which includes a 12-month industry placement.
  • PC literate in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word & Outlook).
  • Methodical and data-based approach to problem solving.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, time management, approachability, and ability to work independently.
