Highcroft Referrals is recruiting a Medicine Intern to join our specialist-led medicine department. This will be a one-year post, working alongside five European Specialists in Internal Medicine, an ECVIM-CA resident and a second medicine intern.

Highcroft Referrals is an expanding multi-disciplinary referral hospital based in Bristol, with specialists in oncology, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, anaesthesia, soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, neurology, dermatology and ophthalmology. In 2023 will be moving into a new, purpose built, state-of-the-art hospital in Avonmouth. This will provide our staff with unprecedented opportunity to be part of a flag-ship development including the first linear accelerator for radiotherapy in the South West. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated medicine intern who is committed to practising the highest standards of veterinary medicine and patient care and who would relish the opportunity to further their career, improve their knowledge base and technical skills.  Opportunities for case responsibility, training in medical procedures including endoscopy, and a supportive learning environment are available for the right candidate.

Personal specification 

A strong candidate will have a minimum of twelve months experience working as a qualified Veterinary Surgeon in small animal practice in the UK, and a previous rotating internship in a specialist hospital. Practical skills and experience of client communication are highly desirable. Applicants must be an MRCVS.
