  • Travel to a variety of sites across the country to assist the Land Surveying team to undertake surveys, collect data and set out works on behalf of DM and their internal and external clients, using Total Station, Laser Scanning, handheld GNSS, and electromagnetic location equipment.   
  • Assist with processing survey data in line with departmental best practice. 
  • Under guidance produce consistently high quality, error free maps and plans in support of a wide range of fast paced projects, on time and within budget to maintain company standards.  
  • Under guidance, obtain, manage and analyse data from range of sources including the Land Registry, Ordnance Survey, Environment Agency, Local Authorities and Utility companies to best inform our advice and service to clients. 
  • Have awareness of the maintenance and calibration procedures of the survey equipment and organisational policies and requirements (health and safety).  
  • Initially shadow and gradually move on to working more independently on projects and requests, ensuring requirements and objectives are met, building positive relationships and taking ownership of the standard of work. 
  • Be commercially aware, maintain good records, including meeting notes, expense claims and comprehensive file updates and records of activities to provide regular client updates and ensure accurate billing.  
  • Develop and maintain own knowledge and skills via company run and wider training and CPD and, if working towards professional qualification, take responsibility for own learning and progress, scheduling progress review meetings and maintaining an up to date record of activities. 
  • Carry out work in compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, contractual and organisational requirements and policies. 
  • Assist team and general business development, using your growing knowledge and skills to suggest ideas for improvement, assist in looking at new ways of working and helping to cross-sell wider company services. 
  • Play a key role in the team by supporting, communicating and helping all other team members 
  • Attend company events and socials and embrace DM’s values, adopting a positive attitude in the workplace.
