Currently we are looking for a Graduate Automation & Controls Engineer (f/m/d), who will work within the Clare Operations Team. This is an on-site role. This a great development opportunity for a fresh graduate Engineer in Automation & Control. The primary purpose of this role will be the development, commissioning and support of automation and control systems and deliver continuous equipment performance improvement on manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Debug/Program PLCs, HMIs and SCADA systems for new or modified equipment.
  • Maintain automation and equipment including working with low to medium voltage.
  • Troubleshoot problems, identify, and implement new or amended system functionality, identify operational process gaps, and take corrective actions.
  • Recommend and initiate modifications or replacement of equipment, which fail to meet operating standards.
  • Execute initiatives supporting our automation strategy, manage operating workflows and progress continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Take responsibility for certain projects or parts of projects under guidance
  • Participate in the specification, development, installation and validation of automation projects within budget and corporate guidelines.
  • Be Data driven, in the investigation of recurring equipment issues.
  • Operate according to SOP’s developed for site engineering and maintenance.
  • Ensure that all new manufacturing equipment and processes installed meet requisite timelines, safety, quality, capacity, GMP, and ISO 13485/FDA requirements.

Knowledge & Skill

  • Strong technical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communications both written and verbal.
  • Positive and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

The candidate must have a working knowledge of Control systems and ideally have experience in one or more of the following platforms:

  • (PLC’s) Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi.
  • (HMI’s) RS ME/SE, Siemens Wincc/TIA portal, Proface.
  • (SCADA) Ignition, Wincc, Wonderware.
  • (Vision System) Keyence, Omron, Cognex.
  • (Robots) Kawasaki, ABB, Denso, UR robots.

Education/ Experience

  • Level 8 Degree or equivalent in Engineering (e.g. Autmation Eng., Instrumention & Control Eng)
  • An Understanding of GMP, ISO/ FDA requirements and experience in a lean manufacturing environment is an advantage.
  • Microsoft office suite/CAD, MS Project are preferred.
  • Experience within an Equipment build, Equipment Design, or Equipment support team is desirable.
