We are recruiting for a Trainee Accountant to join our Healthcare team in Newton Abbot!
The role
This role will give you a great start in accountancy, working for a practice with a long history of training successful accountants and expertise within the Healthcare sector.
You will be supporting managers and other senior staff in providing a range of accountancy services to our clients. Such as providing administrative support to the accountants in your team by performing clerical tasks such as filing, handling mail, making phone calls, replying to emails and basic bookkeeping. You will also be responsible for supporting the production of sole trader accounts, partnership accounts, company accounts and management accounts. There is so much you can learn with this role! We will also support you in gaining the experience and knowledge needed as you progress through AAT.
Role responsibilities
- Preparation of annual accounts for a variety of small companies, sole traders and partnerships
- Quarterly bookkeeping to include the preparation of VAT Returns
- Assisting with administrative tasks as required
- Contacting HMRC when required
- Preparation of basic Tax Returns
- Conducting bookkeeping for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships
- Gain experience with company secretarial services
- Progressively assume more significant responsibilities and deepen your technical knowledge
- Ensuring your timesheet is accurate and completed on time each week
- Support the team with all admin tasks and basic accounts jobs
- Understand the business and how accountancy practices run
Required experience
- A desire to complete AAT Level 2 or 3
- Currently working towards AAT Level 2 or 3 or 1 Year of Experience in an accountanct environment
Desired skills
- Ability to show initiative and work within a team
- Ability to show good client relationships
- To be comfortable with Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to build rapport with people at various levels
- Analytical and ability to complete tasks to a high level
Qualifications
- 5 GCSE's 4 to 9 (A to C) including Maths and English
