Job Description

Our Company Insurable Risk Manager and Insurable Risk Manager - Motor is looking for an experienced Data Analyst to join their high performing Finance team. This role will be based in our Smethwick Head Office (B66 1BY).

This is an important analytical role within the Insurance and Risk team. Working as a key part of the team you will be required to work on a varied range of tasks across all areas of Insurable risk within the business.

You will work closely with the Company Insurable Risk Manager and Insurable Risk Manager - Motor  to produce insightful reports of exceptional quality to tight deadlines, which will drive improvements in our insurance and risk management and form parts of key decisions.

Working with the vast amounts of data available within the Insurance and Risk team, you will utilise advanced spreadsheet and problem solving skills to answer key questions, pulling out relevant information and presenting in a clear and concise manner.

This role will include:

  • Compilation and interrogation of accident data to identify trends and areas for intervention
  • Review exposure and identify where gaps in cover may exist
  • Analytical support of the Insurance and Risk Team
  • Producing MI to support change projects and conduct impact analysis
  • Design and build of dashboards to provide information to both the team and wider business

Qualifications

To succeed in this role you must be educated to a degree level (or equivalent)  in a Mathematics or Computer Science related discipline and you will be an advanced user in Excel or Google Sheets.

  • An ability to present findings simply and clearly.

  • Good interpersonal skills and can communicate with confidence to managers and peers.

  • Enjoys working with data and engages with the content of their work.
  • Enjoys a varied role alongside an element of continuous reporting.
  • Takes ownership for their work and is able to articulate under scrutiny.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of the insurance industry would be advantageous

Additional Information

Job Specifics

You will be required to work 37.5 Hours per week Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am – 6pm.
