About the role

As a Junior IT Business Analyst in DS Smith Recycling division you would be joining a small but mighty team of 4 IT professionals to act as a link between IT and the business with a particular focus on the Digital Agenda and technology-led business improvement. You would be responsible for enhancing the quality of IT products and services, analysing data to inform business decisions, and finding technological solutions to business needs.

You would support the Business Partner in the deployment of the Divisional IT strategy into the recycling regions in line with business goals and targets:

  • In terms of projects – assists the business in initiating ideas, developing business cases and successfully deploying IT projects.
  • In terms of innovation and technology - work on new or existing systems improvement programmes and assist the Business achieve the stipulated Return on Investment (ROI)
  • In terms of processes and procedures – collaborate with the key process owners to ensure all enterprise processes are optimised
  • In terms of money – no direct financial responsibility but should actively seek opportunities to reduce costs or increase value wherever possible.
  • In terms of personal development – continuously strive to seek ways of improving or developing both professionally and personally.

About you

  • Education in IT (Degree, HNC, HND, A levels in IT or partial degree completion)
  • Passion for IT and new technology
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Great attention to detail
  • Great work ethic and ability to complete tasks independently (please note that team support is available at all times)
  • Resourceful and curious approach to job in hand
