Supply Chain & Logistics Team

The Supply Chain & Logistics Team at Dunelm is a real engine driver of our business, we keep our stores stocked with the right product at the right time and always available for our customers to purchase. With any modern multi-channel retailer, we rely on having an effective logistics supply chain. As a team, we are focused on managing the flow of Dunelm product through the supply chain, taking deliveries from an international supplier base through our 2 Distribution Centres and sent on to our stores in the most productive and cost-efficient way we can. We also work side by side with our Merchandisers and suppliers to plan and manage stock volumes and importantly, to make sure we don’t exceed our capacities in the Distribution Centres.

Your graduate programme will be based at our Distribution Centre in Stoke, a fantastic modern distribution operation and a great working environment. You will work with an experienced Logistics team who will give you both the job training and the personal support to help get the best out of the skills you have learnt through your academic career.

Graduate Programme

During the 2-year programme, you'll spend 6 months in 4 different rotations, which will build your knowledge and management experience of the logistics operation in the Distribution Centre. Each rotation will feature challenging and rewarding projects and daily work, developing your capabilities and personal network. Throughout the rotations you will directly report into Senior Manager level.

As part of the Graduate Programme you will start off with our in-depth induction, which will include things like:

  • Housewarming
  • Team building
  • Development sessions
  • Introductions
  • Site visits to our Manufacturing, Studio & Mock Shop, Stoke & Home Delivery Network
  • 2-week store briefing with an Area Coach
  • 2-week store experience

As a Supply Chain & Logistics Graduate you will

As a Supply Chain & Logistics Graduate, no two days will be the same and your job will be majority project based. As part of your role, other tasks will include;

  • Learning alongside our scheduling and capacity planning team
  • Gaining a deeper understanding of our resource forecasting function
  • Contribute towards developing planning methodologies alongside current processes
  • Produce regular reports for use by the management team
  • Support supply chain development projects such as ensuring Dunelm have fit for purpose infrastructure for the future
  • Contribute towards monitoring supply chain performance
  • Contribute towards improving the quality and service of deliveries to our stores
  • Looking at a wide variety of topics/issues and how Supply Chain processes could be streamlined
  • Building professional relationships with Third-Party Logistics Teams to achieve wider goals.

What we are looking for

  • Attained a 2:1 or higher OR on track to receive a 2:1 or higher.
  • A strong interest in retail
  • Solutions & Delivery focused
  • Strong innovative, communication & organisation skills

Please keep in mind when applying that the role will be mainly based in Stoke-on-Trent.
